EUROPE COLLABORATION

EUROPE COLLABORATION – We collaborate with donors, church planting teams, and networks to plant churches in Europe’s cultural centers. We have a dream that the ‘empty Cathedrals of Europe’ will once again be filled. Those Cathedrals that once rang out with the praises of God, which were once centers of learning and culture, hospitality and refuge. This dream guides us.

Patrick McDonald – Chair Donate Here

We met Patrick McDonald in 2007 on a mission trip to Peru. At the time, Patrick was president of Viva Network. We worked with Patrick for years until he retired from the role. For the last few years, he has been leading the Europe Collaboration, a group that is committed to planting churches in the top 100 cities in Europe. We have partnered with Patrick on a church plant in Toulouse, France and on a recent trip to Europe, we were able to travel to Toulouse and meet our team heading the church plant. We were very encouraged by their strategic plant and enthusiasm to reach their region for Christ.

Europe Collaboration’s Goals are:

  • To see 100 vibrant churches planted in the cultural centers of Europe by 2030

  • To build a fellowship of friends committed to long-term financing and support of vibrant churches in Europe

  • To build a learning community committed to understanding how vibrant churches in Europe can be started and scaled

Europe Collaboration continues their collaboration with each church plant for five years to see vibrant church plants established. During this 5-year time period the church plants will receive long-term funding with five year tapered grants to provide the foundations for a new church community. They will receive In-depth reporting as we monitor, assess, and improve the growth of the church plant. We regularly connect all our church planters to learn from one another and we provide prayer and support from Gospel Patrons, mentors, and our team pastors.

We have a unique process in working with our donors. First, our donors set the criteria for the type of church plant they wish to support. Our team then works with trusted referral partners to identify and assess promising church plants across multiple networks and our church plants are extensively reviewed by a panel of domain experts. Finally, our donors rate the resulting portfolio and ultimately decide where to invest.

Today, through a dynamic collaboration between donors, church planters, domain experts, and specialist ministries, the Europe Collaboration has supported the planting of 21 churches in 12 nations.

Churches we believe that have the potential to reset expectations of what church can be—away from a narrative of decline and into one of compelling, compassionate, and growing gospel witness.

A quote from one of our church plants, “The Europe Collaboration frees up the planter to focus on ministry, not fundraising.”

Another quote from one of our church plants, "The Europe Collaboration has allowed me to dream. . . to think bigger than I would have."
